Treasures in America & Uncharted Expedition believes that treasure hunting and exploration is a serious task. We don’t just use any brand. We use the best because it’s important to invest in the right gear. If we don’t use it, we don’t sell it! ~ Timothy Draper, Founder
After many years in the field, we have used it all and now we narrowed it down to a few trusted brands. It doesn’t matter if you’re metal detecting or staying outdoors for the weekend, we know what gear to choose from. Let our team help you choose the right gear for your expedition. Ask us how we can outfit you with the right gear that will fit your needs and budget. Treasures in America, your #1 online store for your next adventure.
THERE'S MORE TO CHOOSE FROM
Believe it or not, treasure hunting takes a lot of knowledge to determine what gear is needed in the field. Founder, Timothy Draper has been an outdoorsman for over 35 years. From hiking to camping. Exploring to treasure seeking… Timothy knows and used just about any brand and gear out there.
“When I was younger, I used to buy any brand that would save me money. After a few years, I decided that the better gear is the gear you only have to buy once. Cheap brands and gear tend to not work and last as well as the better brands.” said Timothy.
As a treasure hunter, you need to be prepared to take on any outdoor activity that comes your way. If you’re going out to metal detect for the day, you need the best clothing, ice coolers, and gear that fits your budget. That’s why Treasures in America is working hard to continue to grow our online store. We want to help others like us grow into their lifestyle and hobby. Don’t sell yourself short! Buy the best and be the best.
YETI ICE COOLERS
In 2006, YETI Coolers was founded with a simple mission: build the cooler you’d use every day if it existed. We were raised with an appreciation for wild game, unfamiliar territory, and high-quality gear.
But the coolers available at the time just weren’t up to our outdoor adventures – the handles would break, the latches would snap off, and the lids would cave in. Not only was it a hassle to replace our coolers after each season, but also these cheaply built, ordinary ice chests were limiting our good times. And that frustration led us to a solution. In 2006, we founded YETI Coolers with a simple mission: build the cooler we’d use every day if it existed. One that was built for the serious outdoor enthusiast rather than for the mass-discount retailers. One that could take the abuse we knew we’d put it throughout in the field and on the water.
One that simply wouldn’t break. We decided early on that product innovation would come from necessity and firsthand experience – not from market research and data analysis. Today, YETI products perform when it matters most – whether that be an excursion into the remote Alaskan wilderness, chasing redfish on the Gulf coast, or just getting together with friends in the backyard.
SUUNTO GPS PRODUCTS
Suunto was founded over 80 years ago by Tuomas Vohlonen, a Finnish adventurer. In 1936, unsatisfied with current technology, knee-deep in snow, and in the all-day Arctic darkness, he invented the liquid-filled compass with a steadier, more accurate needle. He was a revolutionary. And he was never lost.
Way back in 1939, a Finnish soldier was shot by a Russian sniper during the Winter War. He lived to tell the tale. The bullet hit the Suunto M-311 field compass in his pocket.
We don’t believe in luck, we believe that for over 80 years we have created products that will never let you down.
The people who use our products are part of our story. Where you go, we go. Like in 1965, when a British sports diver discovered his Suunto compass still worked underwater, we introduced our first diving compass, the SK-4.
Finland tests us like we test our products. As much as we love it, our cold, dark country demands a lot from us. And because we demand a lot from our products, we take them into the real world for testing. If they can survive Finland, they can survive anything.
For over 80 years we have been constantly learning and fine-tuning our technology, allowing us to create products you can rely on, even in the most extreme conditions. No, especially in the most extreme situations.
Before we released our first dive computer in 1987, divers had to calculate times using dive tables. That wasn’t easy, safe, or fun enough for us, so we created the Suunto SME-ML and revolutionized the sport.
Sometimes the decisions you make must be made quickly and under pressure. The Suunto Vector’s simplified functionalities and iconic design have made climbing at altitude safer since 1998, and it has probably seen more of the Himalayas than any other watch.
We are proud to say we are from Finland. There are many reasons for that, but one that stands out: Just like our Founder Tuomas Vohlonen – we Finns set our own standards, and the best is never enough.
Salomon has been playing in the French alps since 1947.
Our passion for outdoor sports, new technologies, and craftsmanship have driven us – and still does – to create progressive gear to enable you to freely enjoy and challenge yourself in the great outdoors. Don’t wait any longer. Now, it’s time to play.
We enable people to play, progress, and connect with nature
In a society where speed and stress have taken over, people take less and less time to play and connect with nature.
Play is our essence.
Play to enjoy, play to progress, play with the rules
We create the next generation of gear and experiences that make people live the joy of progression of their sport(s) through our unique mindset.
Life is full of joy and opportunities so we constantly invent and progress to bring things forward even if that means rewriting the rules
We see the Outdoors as a playground to share and enjoy with others and we nurture solidarity and teamwork in every community we engage with
We strive to offer the best to everyone we play with: athletes, consumers, employees, and partners.
We are humble in taking our work seriously but not ourselves. We keep things grounded, remain driven by common sense, and look for authenticity in everything we do
OUTDOOR RESEARCH PRODUCTS
Outdoor Research founder Ron Gregg was a nuclear physicist who spent as much time as possible exploring the edges of the map. He referred to the outdoors as The Big Office, taking his work and research into the backcountry as often as possible.
In 1980, Ron watched his frostbitten partner get airlifted off a glacier on Denali. He’d spent months planning a new route in the purest style, skiing 100 miles from the road to the base of the climb. Halfway to the summit, their trip ended with the failure of a simple pair of gaiters. Stubborn to the end, Ron refused a seat on the helicopter and descended alone for two weeks, pondering what had happened. Somewhere along the way, he realized he could fix the gear problem and devote his life to pursuing his passion for adventure. By the end, he knew one thing for sure: He wasn’t going back to his old job.
Back in Seattle, Ron reacted by searching for a solution to keep this situation from happening in the future. The result was a functional, insulated gaiter, the X-Gaiter™, which held snug and was versatile enough to fit a variety of boots. From this original inspiration and its resultant innovation, Outdoor Research was founded the following year. Outdoor Research was born from Ron’s research-led approach to problem-solving. He believed that the Research Method could be applied to solve the outdoor’s biggest challenges. Today, we carry that ethos forward.
The Products That Defined Us
In the 1980s and early 1990s, Outdoor Research built a reputation on functional, quality outdoor gear that pushed the limits of innovative possibility. Ron led a function-forward approach to create solutions that allowed people to safely explore the outdoors with the very best protection. Today, we still manufacture, sell, and earn awards for these same products year after year. This gear stands the test of time.
A Legacy in U.S. Manufacturing
We’ve been building protective equipment in Seattle since 1981. Creating American jobs and building Made in the USA products have always been a hallmark of our business. Today, we operate out of two U.S. factories, one that shares our corporate headquarters in Seattle, WA, and another in El Monte, CA. Being steps away from our production floors allows us to create, test, improve, and distribute protective equipment with the greatest speed and efficiency. It was this accessibility and expertise that allowed us to respond to the needs of the medical community in 2020 by manufacturing personal protective equipment for essential healthcare personnel.
Outdoor Research continues a legacy in U.S. manufacturing with technical apparel and PPE that protects outdoor adventurers, medical staff, armed forces, and everyone else who needs protection outside of their home.
Protecting the environment and being socially conscious is just as important to us as the gear you’ll see on our website and in stores. A lot of hands, materials, and travel go into the products we make. It’s our duty to make these processes as safe and with as little impact as possible.
We rely on only the most trustworthy organizations and certifications to hold us to the high standards that we’ve set for ourselves. Learn about some of the practices we have in place, standards we hold ourselves to, and partners we trust with this work to move forward together.
